ISM or Independent Study and Mentorship is a unique and rigorous course offered in the Frisco Independent School District. The program is specifically designed for academically advanced students, who desire to pursue a career of their choosing. In order to get accepted into the program, students must complete a detailed application process that encompasses teacher recommendations, an essay, and an interview.

Once accepted into the program, students are able to select a topic of study for their ISM journey. In addition, students are able to undergo an interview process to select a mentor to assist them in their learning. Throughout the ISM program, students gain interpersonal communication skills, research skills and professional experience in a real-world work environment.
